Hi Y’all,
I’m Elizabeth

I’m the founder and designer of TNQ studios. But I’m also a published poet, coffee lover, skilled baker, book nerd, former social worker, panda meme enthusiast, sarcasm fan, introvert, mom to one cheeky son + mischievous frenchie pup, and wife to my husband of 16 years. And in 2017 moved from TX to Spain with my whole family.

Squarespace & Shopify Web Designer

In 2015 I designed my first website and in 2020 I started designing websites for clients, after closing my first e-commerce business. In 2021 taught myself to code and began taking courses to learn more and improve my skills. TNQ Studios was born out of following my curiosity & creativity.

"Nobody will stop you from creating.
Do it tonight. Do it tomorrow.
That is the way to make your soul grow...”

-Kurt Vonnegut

Book Your Web Design Project

The Process

  • My design process is intentional. I focus on your story, your user journey, business goals and the overall functionality of your website (what's the point of having a great website that gives you a headache 😉).

When you book your project you get access to your client portal and design discovery questionnaire so we can collaborate and set the foundations for your project.

  • No matter what project I work on, I’m always rooted in strategy & purpose. Ask the right questions so that I can be thorough in creating business solutions through the web design process.

Design is rooted in strategy. We start with website strategy to identify your business goals, user goals and website goals to inform the design process.

  • I develop a website architecture and creative direction that will be visually engaging and provide a great user experience reflecting your business’ vibe, values and goals.

This is where the magic happens, we start with a homepage mock-up focused on UI and proceed to full website build out all rooted in your story and strategy.

IN CASE YOUR CURIOUS 😉

More About
Elizabeth

  • For 10 years I worked with families experiencing homelessness. I was the manager of all the children's programs across multiple facilities and I loved it. Not because it was easy or "fun", but because I was helping kids and parents. It's what I went to school to do, it's what I grew up thinking I would do my whole life. And I probably would still be there, had I not become a mother.

  • When I became a mom everything shifted... in both the ways you plan for and in the ways you can't possibly. I left my career that had always felt like a calling and started my first business. I created a subscription box for kids to teach kids about kindness, community, empathy, love and how no matter where you are or who you are, you have the capacity to make an impact in your community. I LOVED this business and still do, but once we moved to Spain I realized it wasn't practical to continue.

  • In April 2017 Aaron (my husband) and I thought about moving, but where? In June 2017 we were visiting my brother in Spain and in October 2017 we sold everything we owned (except our books and some of Grayson's toys) and moved to Spain. It was fast, but rooted in feelings and a readiness that had been brewing for us. We wanted to give our son a life filled with less stuff and more travel and experiences. We wanted a different pace of life and even though it has been filled with so many challenges and growth, we don't regret it and have made our home here in Madrid.

  • If I could be anything, it would be a writer and poet. And in some ways I am, I have had my poems published in books, in literary magazines, and online publications. It's not my profession, but it is something that lives inside of me, a piece of me, and the way I express myself.

  • "Coffee is a lot more than just a drink; it’s something happening...like an event, a place to be, but not like a location, but like somewhere within yourself. It gives you time, but not actual hours or minutes, but a chance to be, like be yourself, and have a second cup."
    -Gertrude Stein

I started drinking coffee with my great abuelo when I was a young child (it's a Mexican kid thing #iykyk) . And coffee has been a part of my life ever since and well, Gertrude Stein says it best.

  • When I was a kid I would read anywhere, at recess (yes, I was that kid), by the window, in bed with a flashlight, in the car. I loved the library and BookIt was the best. Books opened up worlds and windows and taught me empathy and new ways of seeing. And there have been so many authors and books that have impacted my life, but some that have been pivotal and I return to again and again are Virginia Woolf, Margaret Atwood, Ada Limon, Audre Lorde.

  • I've had a very curvy path to web design. I'm self-taught. Learned to code when I was almost 40. I was full of imposter syndrome when I started (and still am at times). But what I realized is all my experience from my past career, to starting my own e-commerce product business, to my poetry, to being a mother, to moving abroad with my whole family has informed how I design and why I design. I bring all my wisdom and experience to every project.

  • “My silences had not protected me. Your silence will not protect you. …the weight of that silence will choke us.”
    -Audre Lorde

Growing up Mexican-American in Texas, I experienced and witnessed a lot and often what it taught me was to just be silent because "it's just a joke" or "they don't mean it". But what I know is that silence is not the answer and where I use to be afraid to fully stand for what I believe in, I am no longer. So I do speak out on matters of justice and injustice, on dehumanization and racism, on policies and laws that harm people.
